{"id":424,"date":"2017-05-01T06:34:06","date_gmt":"2017-05-01T05:34:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.brandonheritage.org.uk\/?p=424"},"modified":"2017-05-01T06:34:06","modified_gmt":"2017-05-01T05:34:06","slug":"growing-up-in-tip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brandonheritage.co.uk\/?p=424","title":{"rendered":"Growing up in &#8216;Tip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>John DeCamps\u00a0was born in Town Street (Tip).\u00a0 His mother was Brandon-born, nee Dyer, so he has a few memories of his time there &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was born in my grandparents house in 1942.\u00a0 Mum and I lived with them till dad was demobbed after the war, then we moved to a Nissen hut on Rattlers Road in 1947.\u00a0 When my sister arrived we then moved\u00a0to my dad&#8217;s home village in Lincolnshire in February 1949.\u00a0 However <span data-ft=\"{&quot;tn&quot;:&quot;K&quot;}\"><span class=\"UFICommentBody\">I used to stay with my grandparents during most school holidays, until 1960.\u00a0 I would knock about with<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> John Croxall<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Brian Muteham<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #000000;\">John Rolls <\/span>and <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Nigel Bond<\/span>.\u00a0 I always reckoned our gang was the inspiration for the &#8220;Just William&#8221;
