{"id":575,"date":"2017-05-30T11:18:12","date_gmt":"2017-05-30T10:18:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.brandonheritage.org.uk\/?p=575"},"modified":"2017-05-30T11:18:12","modified_gmt":"2017-05-30T10:18:12","slug":"minutes-2017-g-m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brandonheritage.co.uk\/?p=575","title":{"rendered":"Minutes from 2017 A.G.M."},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Brandon Heritage Centre AGM, 7.30pm 25th May 2017<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Below are the bullet points from our A.G.M. &#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Meeting opened by Chairman <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tony Simmons<\/span> at 7.30pm.<\/li>\n<li>Chairman <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tony Simmons<\/span> resigned.<\/li>\n<li>Nomination sought for new Chairman.<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Tim Kent<\/span> nominated and voted as new Chairman.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Reg Silvester<\/span> resigned as Trustee.<\/li>\n<li>New Trustees nominated and appointed:\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tim Kent<\/span> (Chairman)<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dorothy Pocock<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mark Skinner<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hugh Lodge<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Richard Crowther<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tony Gobbold<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Darren Norton<\/span> (Management Group Representative)<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Viktor Lukaniuk<\/span> (Town Council Representative)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>One existing Trustee did not attend the meeting and will be asked whether they want to continue as Trustee.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mark Skinner<\/span> nominated and appointed as Secretary.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hugh Lodge<\/span> nominated and appointed as Treasurer.<\/li>\n<li>Trustees will not interfere with day to day running of the centre, instead concentrate on its financing and adhering to legislation.<\/li>\n<li>Management Committee introduced:\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Darren Norton<\/span> (Manager)<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jenny Brocklehurst<\/span> (Artifacts Officer)<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jane King<\/span> (Press Officer)<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Millie Ball<\/span> (Social Media Officer\/Youth Liaison)<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Alison Barnes<\/span> (Main keyholder\/Volunteer Liaison)<\/li>\n<li>Additional Committee members = <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Peter Jeffrey<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Lynda Smith<\/span> and<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Cherry Rogers<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>More members of the public are welcome to join the management team.<\/li>\n<li>Votes of thanks given to the above and also to <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Viktor Lukaniuk<\/span> (tracing flint panels from Community Centre \u2013 hopefully we shall get these displayed within the Centre) and<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Keith Turnbull<\/span> (donation of a laminator).<\/li>\n<li>The legacy of the Heritage Centre will be to inspire others so they have confidence to research the town and\/or volunteer, which will lead to Brandon&#8217;s Heritage Centre having a presence in the town for many years to come.<\/li>\n<li>The Chairman explained the financial difficulties facing the centre, which have been alleviated in the short term by a combined donation of \u00a31,000 from two of the Trustees. Discussions then followed about raising funds \u2013 <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Eddie Stewart<\/span> (selling dvds of archive footage of Brandon), <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Lynda Smith<\/span> (re-release the &#8216;Brandon at War&#8217; book), <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Gary Brocklehurst<\/span> (bucket collection at Brandon Carnival \u2013 which was supported by two members of the public and the local scouts). <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Viktor Lukaniuk<\/span> offered a donation from his locality budget.<\/li>\n<li>Suggestions for other projects also well received.<\/li>\n<li>The Chairman acknowledged the excellent public support received so far.<\/li>\n<li>Meeting closed at 8.45pm by Chairman<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Tim Kent<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brandon Heritage Centre AGM, 7.30pm 25th May 2017 Below are the bullet points from our A.G.M. &#8230; Meeting opened by Chairman Tony Simmons at 7.30pm.
