The following are some comments about what visitors liked …
Visitors singled out the photo, flint, fur and archaeology displays as being their favourite. Firing the replica flint gun also featured as a highlight in many comments. A few people said they “loved everything” and were very happy we were open.
The following suggestions were offered to improve visitors’ experience …
Introduction of interactive displays, videos and voice recordings of Brandonians talking about their lives in Brandon. Better lighting at the rear of the building because some of the photos were not easily seen in the poorly light room. It was disappointing there was no reference to the centre building when it was used by the Fire Service. There was a request to reprint some of the old faded images, also to install a tea/coffee machine. One suggestion was the Country Park was a more accessible location than the old Fire Station.
