Mildenhall Museum

On Saturday 9th September, delegates from our Management Committee and Trustees visited Mildenhall Museum on a fact finding tour.  Wow!  What an inspiration.  The Mildenhall volunteers briefed us about the pit falls they have encountered when applying for funding while also giving some interesting insights and contacts so we can progress Brandon Heritage Centre.

We would encourage anyone to visit Mildenhall and see what can be achieved in a small local museum.  Their displays are well lit and modern – some behind glass, rural displays within wood units, social history set out within ‘shop windows’ in a small street.  The amount of varied interactive displays was impressive too.  Needless to say the Brandon Heritage Centre delegates left with many ideas.
