Diss museum visit

Last weekend we visited Mildenhall museum and yesterday saw the team travel to Diss for a similar fact finding tour of a local museum similar to ours.  While Diss museum is a lot smaller than our heritage centre, it does enjoy a prime position in the town centre, right in the market place.  We were told that visitor numbers are usually between 80-100 per week.

Diss has some very ingenious ideas such as the ‘community cabinet’ where locals can display their own finds.  The cabinet can change as often as people bring in new items.  There are also ‘Now & Then’ photo frames where modern day images open up to reveal what they used to look like many years ago.  We accept that Brandon lacks modern display units, although we did get some inspiration from Diss where they are well lit and some can be adjusted to suit the type of display within the cabinet.
